If you’ve been very good this year–and I mean exceptionally good—Santa might just bring the latest in Austrian uberglas to fill your stocking.
Under the tree here in the ‘Estates,’ I scored big–exceptionally big: one of Swarovski’s latest products, a zooming image-stabilized handheld spotting scope, the ST-BALANCE. It’s quick to get on a subject and super-clear. Besides the big-tremor dampening of DBS and the fine-tuning of the BALANCE , I am able to spot and scan birds as if PD is not a factor at all! I can only guess how good this would be propped on a monopod or in the frame of a blind.
the Boy , who carrries black German bins that rhyme with “nice,” was impressed when comparing a view of a raft of ducks at 20 or 30x. I am going to have to keep my eye on him!
I hope this winter to proved more specific reviews of this, but it sure makes a damn good first impression.,
